ASM International was founded in 1913 as the American Society for Metals. Today, ASM is the world's largest association of metals-centric materials scientists and engineers with over 30,000 members worldwide.

The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) is a major UK engineering institution whose activities encompass the whole materials cycle, from exploration and extraction, through characterisation, processing, forming, finishing and application, to product recycling and land reuse. IOM3 was formed from the merger of the Institute of Materials and the Institution of Mining and Metallurgy in June 2002.

This site strives to be the materials information archive. MatWeb's database is comprised primarily of data sheets and spec sheets supplied by manufacturers and distributors.

The Library has many MRS volumes in the collection and can order any MRS paper needed by the scientific staff.

The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) is a professional organization for materials scientists and engineers that encompasses the entire range of materials and engineering, from minerals processing and primary metals production to basic research and the advanced applications of materials.
