Citation Rankings

A guide to citation ranking and the citation ranking databases in use in the Argonne Research Library

What is InCites?

InCites is a research evaluation tool that allows users to analyze institutional productivity and benchmark output against peers worldwide. InCites is produced by Clarivate and uses bibliographic record and citation data generated from two other Clarivate databases - Web of Science and Journal Citation Reports.

InCites allows for the analysis of individual, collective, and institutional citation data and generating reports for such purposes as:

  • comparing individual publication metrics to others in similar fields at different institutions
  • analyzing researcher productivity and collaboration activity
  • specializations and subject strengths
  • trends and time series analysis
