The following instructions will not create a "traveling library" within Word. If you think you will need to transfer your citations back into EndNote at any point, use the "Cite While You Write" feature in Word. These instructions will simply create a list of citations in Word. If you have questions, please contact the library for help.
To export citations into Word, you will first need to select the citations you wish to transfer.
Then, go to File - Export.
Next, you will need to choose where you will save the document, file type, and citation style.
The default file type is a text file. This will not be an easy format to read, you will need to select Rich Text Format (.rtf) to create a citation list in Word.
Select the citation style you wish for the list in Word.
Then click Save.
The .rtf file will be saved in the location you chose. It will not automatically open.
****Please note, if you did not select which citations to export to Word, the one citation that was selected in EndNote will be the only citation in your Word document.
